At the end of 2024, I had the privilege of giving a guest lecture at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences for Industrial Design Engineering bachelor students. I shared insights into the field of UX design and research, talking about my experiences as a UX professional in the tech industry and sharing the potential roles they can grow into within the UX domain. I also emphasized the importance of usability and user-centered design principles in creating effective digital products.
To make the session practical, we conducted an exercise using the heuristic evaluation methodology. This activity helped students to identify usability challenges in the applications they use frequently and propose actionable improvements for a better user experience.
For me, engaging with future designers and researchers is always inspiring and rewarding. It reinforces my passion for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and its real-world application in UX.
